Mountcastle Miniature Horses

Thank you for visiting us! The name of our farm is a tribute to our Scottish ancestors, the Mountcastles. The farm is situated on ten lovely acres in the Southwest corner of Washington State right next to the Pacific Ocean. Although our town is small, one will find it difficult to find a more picturesque and peaceful area.

Our goal is to breed horses that are consistently winning in both halter and performance. Each show can be extremely subjective and therefore should not be the sole basis on determining a horse's quality. Consistent top places under different judges and against the best competition available, however, is a fantastic way to determine if our breeding program is heading in the right direction.

Because our horses are all potential if not actual performance and halter champions, our horses are not "tiny." They are all 34" or under, and registered with the American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA), but none are under 31.5". Most of our horses are also registered with the American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR).

We welcome you to come visit us and the horses anytime you're going to be passing through Southwest Washington. Just e-mail for directions and to make sure we'll be home.

We suggest summer as the best time to visit, as our horses will be clipped (or at least out of their winter coats) and our foals will be on the ground. But, we welcome anyone at anytime! If you choose to visit in the fall, winter, or even spring, be warned. Because we are so near the beautiful west coast, our precipitation is great, and hence mud. Not to mention our horses are hairy!

The bloodlines we breed include Gold Melody Boy, Orion Light Vant Huttenest, Little Kings Napoleon, Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, Prince Tennessee of Monashee, X-Calibers Little Navajo, Bond, and many more.
